Frequently asked questions

Get to know Novellore.

A closer look at what it’s for, how it approaches story structure, and what taking part in the closed beta involves.

01 / The product

Using Novellore

Who is Novellore for?

Novellore is for fiction writers who want to organize their story’s structure and worldbuilding, then see how those pieces connect across chapters and scenes. That includes tracking characters, story threads, locations, and lore.

Is it a place to write my manuscript?

Novellore’s current focus is planning and structure. Use it to organize and examine your story alongside the tools you use to write your prose. It is not currently intended as your manuscript’s primary home.

How do the Timeline Matrix, Journey Map, and Lore Audit fit together?

The Timeline Matrix shows where recorded story elements appear across your chapters and scenes. Journey Map connects places and character journeys on your maps. Lore Audit checks recorded information against defined rules and presents findings for you to review.

They offer different ways to examine the same story: its sequence, its geography, and aspects of its structure.

Will Lore Audit find every plot hole?

No. Lore Audit works with the information you record and the checks the product supports. For example, when a seed and its payoff are both recorded, an ordering check can flag a payoff placed before its seed.

It cannot judge every aspect of a story or replace your editorial judgment. You decide whether a finding identifies a problem or an intentional choice.

Does Novellore generate stories with AI?

No. Novellore currently has no generative AI features. Lore Audit uses defined checks on recorded story information; it does not generate prose or rewrite your work.

Can I bring an outline from another planning tool?

The current Import Center accepts Novellore Outline v1 DOCX files. Download the template and instructions, then transfer material from your existing outline into that format. Before anything is added, you can review proposed acts, chapters, scenes, and Shared Lore records and skip items you do not want. It does not directly import arbitrary files from other planning tools; keep your original and check the result after import.

02 / Taking part

The closed beta

Who can apply, and does it cost anything?

The closed beta is for approved fiction writers aged 18 or older. Access is free throughout the closed beta.

If you have not been directly invited by the founder or the Novellore Team, you will be asked to complete a short application questionnaire. You can apply for the closed beta. Applications are reviewed individually, and we will contact you at the email address you provide.

What will beta testers be asked to do?

Bring a fiction project, use Novellore as part of your planning process, and share honest feedback about what helps and what causes difficulty. The team will need to contact you at your registered email address for beta follow-ups and support.

The aim is useful feedback from real use. Participation can fit around your writing schedule, with flexibility during the closed beta.

Will there be a video interview?

Testers will be invited to an optional follow-up video call to discuss their experience. Recording requires your permission. Permission to record and permission to use an interview or excerpt publicly will be requested separately.

When does the closed beta end?

There is no fixed end date to announce yet. Testers may join at different times, and the decision will depend on what we learn and how ready the product is for its next stage.

Post-beta pricing and any tester discount will be shared once those details are settled.

How can I contact the Novellore Team?

Email support@novellore.app with questions about the closed beta, your application, or support. You can also use that address to request deletion of an application.
