Website & Closed Beta Terms
What applying and participating involve, and the rights you keep in your writing.
Version: 2026-10-09 · Effective October 9, 2026
1. Who these terms cover
Novellore is currently operated by Ryan Hindman as an individual. “We” means Ryan Hindman, operating Novellore; “you” means the person using the website, applying or participating in the beta. Contact: support@novellore.app.
These terms cover the marketing website and beta applications. The sections about accounts, project content and beta use apply when you are invited and accept the beta terms before using the service. An invitation or account creation alone does not complete that acceptance or grant access. Personally invited testers may skip the questionnaire, but still need to accept the beta terms and receive the privacy notice.
The Privacy Notice explains data handling. Acknowledging that notice is not blanket consent to unrelated processing, recording or publicity.
2. Eligibility and applications
You must be at least 18 to apply or participate in the closed beta. Provide accurate application information and use an email address you can access. Do not include manuscripts, passwords or sensitive personal information in your application.
We review applications individually. Applying does not guarantee an invitation, a particular feature, a response by a particular date or ongoing access. Tell us if your circumstances change or you want to withdraw.
3. Free beta, feedback and future pricing
Approved testers can use the closed beta for free. Features may change, be incomplete or unavailable, and the beta may end. We aim to support useful testing rather than promise a production service level or uninterrupted availability.
We ask testers to begin around seven days after an invitation and share feedback during their first month, with flexibility if another schedule works better. A video interview is optional, and declining it does not affect eligibility. You do not have to provide a review, testimonial or public endorsement.
We will give at least 30 days’ notice before introducing paid access for existing beta participants. You will choose whether to subscribe. The beta will not automatically turn into a paid subscription or result in an automatic charge. Any paid offer will include its price and separate payment terms.
4. Accounts and safe use
Keep your sign-in credentials secure and contact us if you suspect unauthorized access. Use only accounts and projects you are authorized to access. You are responsible for your own devices and for keeping independent copies of important work.
Do not try to access another person’s content, bypass access controls, disrupt the service, distribute malware, or use Novellore in a way that infringes another person’s rights or violates applicable law. These rules concern misuse of the service, not the subject matter of lawful fiction.
5. Your content and the service permission
Novellore’s software, design and branding remain ours or our licensors’. Approved testers receive permission to use the beta for its intended purpose; these terms do not transfer rights in the software or authorize redistribution of it.
You keep ownership of the writing, project content and images you submit. Only submit material you have the right to use. We do not claim publishing rights, authorship or ownership of your story.
You give us a non-exclusive permission to host, store, copy, transmit, display to you and technically process your content only as needed to provide, maintain, secure and support Novellore. Service providers may do those tasks on our behalf. This permission is not a license to sell your content, publish it, use it in advertising or train generative AI models on it.
The permission ends when your content is removed, except for copies temporarily retained as explained in the Privacy Notice, which may be used only for those limited retention purposes. The same limits apply if a future company takes over operating Novellore.
6. Feedback, recording and publicity
We may use your suggestions and feedback to improve Novellore without owing compensation. This permission covers ideas about the product; it does not transfer ownership of your writing or authorize publication of private messages, project content or your identity.
We will request separate permission before recording an interview and separate permission for any public quotation, testimonial, recording, name, image or project example. An application, invitation or agreement to these terms does not supply that permission.
7. Backups, imports and creative judgment
Keep your original documents and independent backups. Imports and exports have supported formats and limits; you should check the result rather than assume a perfect conversion or complete preservation of formatting and attachments. Imported or pasted prose may be stored as project content.
Novellore helps organize a story and highlight supported structural issues. Its findings are prompts for your review, not guarantees of factual accuracy, consistency, originality or publishing suitability. You make the creative decisions. Novellore currently has no generative AI features.
8. Suspension, leaving and the end of beta
You may stop using the service and request deletion at support@novellore.app. Export or otherwise save your work first; deletion can be irreversible.
We may suspend access to address misuse, a security issue or a legal requirement, and may end beta access or the beta itself. Where reasonably possible, we will explain the reason, notify you in advance and give you an opportunity to save your work. Urgent security or legal circumstances may require immediate action.
We may check in with inactive testers or suspend access, but we will not automatically delete their projects solely because they are inactive during the closed beta. Ending access and deleting data are separate actions, governed by the Privacy Notice and any notice given to you.
9. Service limitations and your legal rights
The beta is an experimental service provided as available. To the extent permitted by law, we do not make warranties that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or suitable for every purpose. We cannot promise that an import, sync, export or backup will always succeed.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising from beta use. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, removes mandatory consumer or privacy rights, or prevents you from using courts or other remedies available under applicable law.
These terms do not require private arbitration, waive class or collective proceedings, impose a blanket indemnity, or set a token monetary liability cap for a free service.
10. Changes and a future operator
We will identify the version of these terms you accept. Material changes will be explained with reasonable advance notice where possible; if a change requires renewed agreement, we will request it before it applies. Changes will not retroactively enlarge our permission to use your writing.
If a company or another operator takes responsibility for Novellore, we will identify that operator and explain relevant changes. The ownership and limited content permission above continue to protect your work; any new agreement requiring your acceptance will be presented separately.
If you have a concern, email support@novellore.app so we can try to resolve it.
